Silk scarfes
Project details
KYIV CHESTNUT
The Kyiv handkerchief is inspired by the work of avant-garde artist Kazimir Malevich. The image of the artist is sitting at the table of a Kyiv cafe on Reitarska Street. Among the patterns on the canvas are chestnut leaves, which are a symbol of Kyiv, ripe cherries, and earthenware. If you look closely, you can see the “Plate on Lybidska”, next to which is the street named after the artist.
LASTIVKY
The second scarf features swallows, symbolizing rebirth and spring. There are also images of elements from the artist Paraska Plytka-Horytsvit's vytynanka.
CARPATHIAN LYNX CAT
The last model from the drop takes us to Western Ukraine and the “naive art” of Maria Pryimachenko. The canvas depicts the Carpathian lynxes from the Red Book, a forest, mountains, and the Christmas star.
